Yoga for Seniors

“I love this class for seniors – the best endorsement that I can give is that I actually go every week 2 – 3 times a week. The stretching is essential for me at age 70 and I always feel better after a class. Carolina is very talented, kind and gentle – never makes you feel uncoordinated or bad about your limitations , nor does she make you go beyond your limits.  Try it!!!” – Linda Webb

“The space is simple, beautiful, arranged and enhanced with objects d’art to invite even the most reluctant student. The Houston location is central. Classes are designed for anyone who wants just enough, but not too much, movement, stretching, making them ideal for the beginner, the out-of-shape and/or the over-aged. And anyone else, especially someone with a busy schedule who wants a 45-minute session with background music playing very softly, unobtrusively. And then there’s the teacher, unrivaled: very personable, kind, good-humored, encouraging, clearly very experienced. Have I found the perfect yoga class, after much searching? My answer’s an heartfelt yes! I’d say come along and enjoy the perfection!” – Jacsun Shaw

“I have enjoyed this class weekly for the last year and have made friends while getting in better shape. I admit I still need practice for the “drunk walk” but I feel so much better,  have better balance, have stretched my muscles and even have less back pain as a result of these gentle exercises. Making time for myself and learning to breath and cleanse my mind to start the day has been great.  Carolina, our instructor, will make you feel comfortable whether you’re a “newbie” or experienced in yoga.  The other students are cordial, fun, and will make you feel welcome. I look forward to my times there and hope you will too.” -Mary T

At Yogaleena, we believe yoga is for all ages, and can be most beneficial during our later years when strength, flexibility, and balance make a big difference in our quality of life. Our gentle Yoga for Seniors classes incorporate seated (on a chair), standing, and floor poses targeting areas of the body that tend to weaken and stiffen with age. Through movement, breathing, and meditation, we aim to improve circulation, increase vitality, and have a little fun along the way.

Yoga for Seniors is offered on the following days/times:

Mondays 9:15am-10:00am

Wednesdays 9:15am-10:00am

Fridays 10:30am-11:15am

The drop-In rate is $10/class and you can pay as you go or buy a package of classes at once.
