Since we are celebrating love this month, I will be introducing you each week to people I love: the inspiring ladies who make up my Yogaleena tribe! I met each one of these women in a unique and unexpected way, and I am incredibly grateful our paths crossed.
First up, Alexandra and Frances.
A few months ago I signed up for a personal development seminar on a whim, without doing much research, based solely on great reviews from a good friend. She said the workshop was life changing, and seriously, who in their right mind would pass up “life-changing” anything?
I was pumped for the weekend immersion to start so I could take notes in my colored pens, contribute to radical, mind-blowing conversations, and leave with a master plan for an amazing life and business.
None of that happened over those 3 days, actually.
But something even better did!
I connected with two beautiful souls who are now a huge part of Yogaleena and my life. Since I have met them, we’ve had radical, mind-blowing conversations, planned our hearts off in regards to Yogaleena’s next steps, and yes, added lots of colorful notes to our journals.
So in the end I got exactly what I needed, just in a different way than expected (that in itself is a big life lesson we should talk about at another time.)
I am so thrilled to introduce you to these two amazing ladies, here’s a sneak peek into their worlds:
Hometown: Lake Charles, LA
Pets: Lonestar (Lonnie)
Hobbies: reading, traveling, and cooking!
“He smiled understandingly-much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced–or seemed to face–the whole eternal world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey.” -F.Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby
Favorite Pose: Child’s Pose
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Mexican Vanilla
Quirky Habit: I always have to have Chapstick on!!
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
Pets: None of my own but I claim many of my friends’ and parents’ pets! Soon I will have a puppy, though!
Hobbies: Outside of yoga, I love the creation that is cooking and baking. Also I find a lot of fun in being a foodie, and listening and dancing to music, reading inspiring books, seeing and experiencing art. And I find freedom in going on long runs.
“Life is amazing. And then it is awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and the awful its ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.” – LR Knost
Favorite Pose: Triangle and supta baddha konasana
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: so hard to choose just one!! Either a dulce de leche OR (and/or!?) vanilla with peanut butter and chocolate
Quirky Habit: I always make my bed. There is something so wrong to me about getting in an unmade bed, even if I know that within a minute of getting in a made bed it will look just as messy as an unmade bed. But, it’s the principle of the matter!!
